Who We Are

The Australian Elite Football Academy will provide professional football development coaching in Canberra and surrounding regions.  We will focus on developing the character, skills and on-field decision making of our young male and female players.

The staff at Australian Elite Football Academy (AEFA) are passionate about youth development and want to raise the bar.  In fact, we believe it is time for a change on what we do and how we do it.  We will provide a flexible and player-centred learning environment that not only supports young players in  learning the game they love and enjoy, but also aims to encourage and challenge them to be contributing and respectful members of our community.

Importantly, we aim to consistently develop a larger number of “home grown” players equipped for future inclusion in senior NPL teams, representative teams, A-League teams and teams overseas.  We believe AEFA will provide the best learning opportunity for committed players in Canberra and surrounds and enable them to play at the highest possible level.

All AEFA sessions will be run under the direction of our Head Coach Ian Worthington.  Ian has a UEFA ‘A’ Licence and significant high level experience running youth development in the USA and in the UK with Bolton and Burnley.  Ian will provide ‘on demand’ and functional academy training sessions to interested players in the ACT region and surrounds.

Functional academy sessions will be tailored to both player skill levels and their ages.  Our pricing is intended to provide maximum value to all players (and parents). Functional academy sessions are available for teams, small groups and for individuals both on a regular ongoing basis and on demand for single sessions.

Our training will also receive support and oversight from our Child Safety Consultant Carleigh Dallen, an ACT based Social Worker with extensive experience in supporting young people and families, particularly those who experience high vulnerabilities and trauma.
